Better Fitting.
Better
Golf.

Real club fitting and coaching for golfers who want answers, not sales theatre.

At Swing Shack in Johannesburg and Stick in Paarl, we believe better golf starts with better decisions. That means understanding your swing, your ball flight, your misses, and the equipment specifications that actually help you perform.

"Better golf
starts with
better decisions."

MOST GOLFERS DO NOT NEED MORE GUESSWORK.
THEY NEED A BETTER PROCESS.

A proper fitting is not about hitting one great shot with a demo club and being told you've found "the one." It starts with context. We look at your current clubs, your strike pattern, your launch conditions, your tendencies, and the problem you are actually trying to solve. From there, we test with purpose.

Our approach is built on a simple idea: fit the player first, then build the club properly. Off-the-rack clubs are built to generic specifications. Even many "custom" sets never arrive matching what the golfer was fit into. That matters more than most golfers realise. A club that is off in loft, lie, length, swing weight, shaft preparation, or grip specification is not a small detail. It changes performance.

That is why our standard is not just fitting. It is fit, build, verify.

The same thinking runs through our coaching. The ball tells the truth. We coach from impact and ball flight backwards, using data and video to understand cause and effect, then translating that into clear feels and practical drills. No one-method-fits-all nonsense. No aesthetic obsession. Just sound fundamentals, individual solutions, and better outcomes.

Whether you book at Swing Shack or Stick, the goal is the same: equipment and coaching that make golf simpler, more repeatable, and more enjoyable.

TECHNOLOGY IS USEFUL.
HYPE IS NOT.

We use tools like TrackMan and video because they help us measure what the eye alone cannot. But numbers only matter when they are interpreted properly. Anyone can flash one long carry number on a screen and call it progress. We care about what actually travels to the course.

That means paying attention to:

We are not trying to fit your best three swings. We are trying to improve your actual pattern.

A good fitting should leave you knowing: what your baseline was, what changed, why it changed, what trade-offs were involved, and what final specifications your clubs need to match.

A good coaching session should do the same thing. You should understand what the ball is doing, why it is doing it, and what to work on next. Data should create clarity, not confusion.

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING

What makes your fitting different?

We do not start with stock to move or brands to push. We start with the player, build from evidence, and care deeply about whether the final club matches the fitted specification.

Why does build quality matter so much?

Because a good fitting with a poor build still gives you a poor result. If the club you receive does not match the fitted specs, the fitting loses value. That's why our standard is fit, build, verify — not just fit and order.

What if I've been fitted before and it didn't help?

Then we look at what went wrong. Often it's because the fitting was brand-led rather than data-led, or the build wasn't verified. We do both differently — and we can show you exactly what changed and why.

Do I need to buy new clubs?

Not necessarily. Sometimes the right answer is to adjust what you have. Sometimes it's to build something new. We'll tell you what we find and why, and you decide what to do with that information.

"The clubs aren't the point.
Playing better is the point."
